| Hello! 1. This Site This site is The Failure of a Vast Network. It was born on July 1, 2004 and is updated regularly every few weeks or so.
It probably has no specific guiding philosophy or anything; I don't really know why I made it in the first place. Most of its writing is done quickly and haphazardly in small flurries of activity. 2. Me My name is Dan. I made this site, the description of which precedes this section. Like most people, I enjoy recieving interesting (e-)mail and stuff. 3. Commenting
Feel free to comment! I encourage it; at some point, I would love to get actual conversation threads operating on this site, and that's pretty much totally contingent on your (points at you) participation, right? Additionally, the comment feature may be useful for starting collaborative projects here, which I'd love to do as well. So feel free to say stuff.
4. Stanislav Petrov
This man saved the world from 1980s WarGames/Terminator/Auf-ihrem-Weg-zum-Horizont/Vera-Lynn nuclear destruction on September 26, 1983. Here is the entry on Wikipedia. I feel that people should know about this.
